The addition marks a significant step forward in making advanced diagnostic imaging more accessible to patients outside of a traditional hospital setting.
The new MRI scanner enhances their services by enabling earlier and more accurate diagnoses to support effective recovery plans.
Sam Wright, Consultant Physiotherapist at Lyfe Health, led the purchase and installation of the new system. He commented: “Since having the scanner on site, we have been able to diagnose patients more quickly and accurately, which means we can put the correct care pathway in place sooner and support better recovery outcomes. We already have one S-scan at another site, which has served us extremely well, so it was a natural decision to install another here in Downend.”
Esaote’s S-scan Open MRI system is designed to be efficient, accessible, and easy to use. Its open design improves patient comfort and facilitates faster positioning, while its compact footprint, low energy consumption, and absence of cryogens make it cost-effective and environmentally sustainable — without compromising image quality.
Bella Chavda, Applications Specialist at Esaote, added: “We are delighted to support Lyfe Health in expanding their diagnostic capabilities with a second S-scan system. Their vision of bringing advanced imaging into the community aligns perfectly with the strengths of the S-scan Open – efficient, accessible, and designed around both patients and practitioners. It is exciting to see how this technology is helping them deliver faster diagnoses and better patient care.”
By combining advanced imaging with rehabilitation and hands-on therapies in one convenient location, Lyfe Health Bristol is setting a new benchmark for modern, patient-focused healthcare in the community.
