In its 30 years of activity Esaote has become an extremely successful industrial and technological concern, in a sector with a high rate of innovation. Esaote was founded and established itself in the Italian and international markets, concentrating its efforts on a selective focalised product/market strategy and investments in Research and Development (sector allocated with about 9% of the turnover), until it has now become one of the top ten biomedical companies in the world.
Esaote was started "from scratch" at the beginning of the 80’s.

Early 1980’s - Ansaldo Biomedicale founded
1988 - Ote Biomedica and a division of Esacontrol merge to create Esaote Biomedica
1991 - Internationalization begun with Biosound, Indianapolis, USA
1992 - Esaote Biomedica Deutschland and Esaote France created
1994 - Management Buy-out of Esaote, backed by leading investors and privatization
1996 - Listed on the Milan Stock Exchange
1997 - Esaote China set up
1998 - Pie Medical Group (Holland) acquired (today Esaote Europe)
1998 - Bracco becomes major stakeholder
2003 - Bracco launches a take-over bid and subscribes to 100% of the share capital
2004 - SEMT joint venture set up in Shenzhen (People’s Republic of China)
2006 - 100% of Esaote acquired by Imaging S.p.A. , a company set up by a group of investors, together with the management
2007 - Kontron Medical (France) acquired
2007 - Esaote Asia Pacific Diagnostic, (New Delhi,India) created
2007 - Esaote S.p.A and EbitAet S.p.A. merge with Imaging S.p.A. and Imaging S.p.A. changes its name to Esaote S.p.A.
2008 - Esaote S.p.A. purchases 79% of Anima Medica LtdA, a company based in San Paolo, Brasil. This company distributes Esaote products in Brasil with the trademark "Esaote Healthcare do Brasil".
2009 - Esaote is acquired by Tutti S.p.A. - 3rd Management Buy-Out
2010 - Merge of Tutti S.p.A in Esaote S.p.A
2011 - Esaote aquires 3mensio Medical Imaging BV
