The PBI (Pure Brilliance Imaging) technology designed by Esaote notably enhances the detail in the ultrasound image to automatically optimize the image quality and help in exploiting all potentialities offered by the system and its keyboard controls, specially when performing complex exams (such as interventional procedures).
The medium-low level of the gray scale imaging usually obtained with the traditional ultrasound techniques is overcome by this advanced technique which automatically utilizes the entire dynamic range available and provides the automatic enhancement of the B-Mode imaging representation.
PBI automatically elaborates the contrast optimization and analyzes the typical characteristics of the ultrasound image through numerous image processing algorithms, mainly using three basic elaborations:
- real-time analysis of the ultrasound signal
- image contrast optimization
- study of the densitometric characteristics of the previously elaborated image
Using all dedicated algorithms, the PBI function will allow to obtain a "pure and brilliant" ultrasound image in a simple and automatic way, improving at best its adjustment in terms of dynamics, contrast and brightness.
