The IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) initiative, sponsored by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), brings together medical equipment and information products from different manufacturers for defining, testing and demonstrating an efficient workflow in the hospital-wide connectivity.
It is not a standard, but it is based on the existing standards (DICOM, HL7), upon which it defines a set of integration profiles.
