The Virtual Biopsy up-to-date modality allows to follow biopsy percutaneus procedures by means of a dedicated needle provided with sensor that superimposes the needle path in the real-time ultrasound image. The aim is to support biopsy needle path during percutaneous procedures in a more reliable way.
Having the sensor embedded into the needle tip, the information coming from the virtual needle is not affected by the needle bending, and the needle tip is precisely visualized by the tool.
Thanks to the available biopsy kit, the needle insertion is fast and reliable. To satisfy a more flexible approach a basket of dedicated biopsy kits allows to select each angle in a range from 40 to 80 degrees keeping the needle in the probe plane.
WARNING: The real-time ultrasound image has to be always taken as a reference: the needle path has to be followed referring to the real-time ultrasound image during the whole procedure. Do not rely on virtual biopsy displayed information only.
Virtual Navigator is not available for sales in the USA.
