This installation deepens a longstanding collaboration and enhances the university’s fleet of Esaote systems already in use for advanced research and clinical teaching.
Manchester Metropolitan University now operates six Esaote ultrasound platforms across its teaching and research programmes: MyLab™Twice, MyLab™Seven, MyLab™Gamma, MyLab™Touch, and now their flagship MyLab™X8.

The MyLab™X8, equipped with Esaote’s ClearWave architecture, offers exceptional image clarity, workflow efficiency, and AI-assisted diagnostics.
Its intuitive user interface and advanced features will support researchers and students—particularly those on Clinical MSc pathways—in studying the positive impacts of physical activity and exercise across a range of musculoskeletal (MSK), cardiovascular, and metabolic diseases and disorders.
Senior academics at ManMet emphasised the role of ultrasound in advancing exercise-based clinical practice:
