In Turin, from June 10 to 13, 2026, the 24th National Conference of the Italian Association of Clinical Engineers will take place. This year, the central theme will be healthcare innovation and the ability to respond effectively to the needs of an increasingly elderly population with a growing prevalence of chronic conditions.
The theme of innovation will be explored from multiple perspectives: technological evolution, with the integration of AI into clinical pathways; increasingly smart devices for monitoring and treating diseases; digital diagnostics; process innovation, aimed at achieving results more effectively; and industrial innovation, with solutions that are reshaping the market. The conference will also address innovation related to the world of research, both in academia and among startups, which are capable of introducing new entrepreneurial ideas. This leads to the concept of a conscious use of AI and “smart hospitals”.
This is a detailed analysis that touches on several areas and leaves room for discussion and, consequently, personal growth, with an eye toward the future. It is precisely in this context that the role of the clinical engineer becomes proactive and strategic.
